THE ARCHITECT

VANILLA HONEY (she/they) is a Queer, Kinky, Korean-American Architectural Designer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Her design work investigates the intersections of eroticism, subculture, and belonging, and their relationships to space both in the built environment and in realities that exist without the margins. Whether theoretical or material, they believe that striving for utopia will bring us closer to it. Her approach centers the possibilities for queer futures, perverts the everyday, and reimagines design models rooted in consent protocols with a resistance to normativity.

VH earned a Bachelors Degree in Architecture with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies. They’ve worked at many different architecture and design firms throughout their career in NYC/NYS. Their experience ranges from architecture, interior design, interactive installation and production design, to urban planning, contracting, and restoration. She currently works at an architecture and interior design firm during the day, and moonlights as a designer to work on personal projects and Intimate Theater projects.
